Walkathon 2026: REC Hulkoti Promotes Health, Fitness and Cleanliness

RTE Society’s Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti, organized REC Walkathon 2026 on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day to create awareness about building a healthy and tobacco-free society.

The walkathon was conducted under the banner of the National Service Scheme (NSS) with the active participation of students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff of the institution.

The programme was held on 30-05-2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

The event aimed to spread awareness among students and the general public about the harmful effects of tobacco and the importance of maintaining good health, fitness, cleanliness, and social responsibility.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. B. N. Patil, Principal, advised the students and participants to stay away from tobacco and other harmful habits. He highlighted that good health is the real wealth of every individual and encouraged everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. V. M. Patil, Administrator, RTE Society, also addressed the gathering and explained the serious health problems caused by tobacco consumption. He emphasized that awareness programmes like Walkathon help in creating social responsibility among students and the public. He also appreciated the active involvement of students, staff, and NSS volunteers in spreading the message of a tobacco-free society.

Students and staff enthusiastically participated in the walkathon by carrying banners and spreading awareness messages throughout the route.

The event was organized under the guidance of Shri P. R. Patil, NSS Programme Officer. The active participation of all students, faculty members, staff, and NSS volunteers made the programme successful and meaningful.

Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti appreciates all the participants for their valuable presence and contribution towards the success of REC Walkathon 2026.
