Placement Orientation Programme and Parent-Teacher Meeting

Rural Engineering College (REC), Hulkoti, organized a Placement Orientation Programme as part of the Parent-Teacher Meeting on July 25, 2026. Parents of students from the 3rd and 5th semesters participated in the programme, which aimed to create awareness about the changing employment landscape, emerging technologies, industry expectations, and the college’s placement initiatives.

The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Shri Sachin D. Patil, Secretary, RTE Society, Dr. V. M. Patil, Administrator, RTE Society; Dr. B. N. Patil, Principal, REC Hulkoti and Dr. Bhargav H. K., Professor and Training & Placement Officer (TPO).

Preparing Students for AI and Emerging Technologies

Addressing the gathering, Shri Sachin D. Patil, Secretary, RTE Society, emphasized that the future belongs to students who are prepared to work with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Agentic AI. He explained that industries are rapidly adopting AI-powered autonomous systems capable of making decisions and performing tasks with increasing levels of independence.

He highlighted the importance of establishing Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Drones, Data Science, Cyber Security, and Full Stack Development. Such advanced facilities, he said, would help bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry expectations by providing students with greater exposure to practical and industry-relevant skills.

The 3H Model – Head, Heart and Hand

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bhargav H. K., Professor and Training & Placement Officer, explained the 3H Model – Head, Heart and Hand as an important framework for students’ professional development.

He explained that Head represents knowledge, analytical ability, and thinking skills; Heart represents values, attitude, discipline, and communication; while Hand represents practical skills and the ability to effectively perform tasks.

He stressed that engineering graduates need a balanced combination of knowledge, professional attitude, communication skills, and hands-on abilities to succeed in today’s competitive employment environment.

Dr. Bhargav also presented the industry perspective through the concept of Cost, Risk and Profit. He explained that organizations invest considerable resources in recruiting and training fresh graduates. Companies therefore value candidates with sound technical knowledge, professional behaviour, effective communication, problem-solving ability, and practical skills, as these qualities help reduce training requirements and business risks while improving productivity.

Parents were encouraged to motivate their children to actively participate in placement training programmes, coding practice, aptitude sessions, communication skill development, technical training, and mock interviews.

Regular Attendance and Active Participation Essential

Addressing the parents, Dr. V. M. Patil, Administrator, RTE Society, emphasized the importance of regular attendance, discipline, and consistent learning. He appealed to parents to ensure that their sons and daughters attend college regularly and actively participate in academic activities as well as placement-related training programmes.

He observed that consistent participation in such activities plays an important role in achieving academic excellence and improving students’ prospects of securing quality employment.



REC Strengthening Training and Placement Activities

Presiding over the programme, Dr. B. N. Patil, Principal, REC Hulkoti, informed parents about the structured training and campus placement activities being undertaken by the institution.

He stated that the college is continuously working towards strengthening industry collaborations, skill-development initiatives, training programmes, internships, and placement support to enhance students’ employability and career prospects.

The programme concluded with an interactive session with parents, who appreciated the college’s proactive efforts towards preparing students for emerging career opportunities.
