Industrial Visit to Karnataka Handloom Technology Institute

The Department of Textile Technology, Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti, organized a one-day industrial visit to the Karnataka Handloom Technology Institute on 05 June 2026 for B.Tech. IV Semester Textile Technology students as part of the subject Weaving Technology-II Lab.
The visit was conducted to fulfill the curriculum requirements of VTU, Belagavi, and to provide practical exposure to students in the field of weaving technology. During the visit, students observed the working of the Single Lift Single Cylinder Jacquard and the Piano Card Cutting Machine.
The students learned how card punching is carried out according to different design requirements, under the guidance of the institute staff. They also gained hands-on knowledge of dismantling and assembling different working parts of the Jacquard mechanism, helping them understand its construction and operation in detail.
The students were accompanied and guided by Lecturer Ajaya Kumari and Department Incharge Asst. Prof. Sainath.
