Engineers’ Day 2026 Celebrated at Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti

The Department of Civil Engineering, Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti, celebrated Engineers’ Day 2026 on 15 September 2026 at the Seminar Hall, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary engineer and statesman Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

The programme commenced with a prayer song by Ms. Tejashwini, a third-year student, followed by the floral tribute to the dignitaries on the dais. A special floral tribute was also offered to Sir M. Visvesvaraya in remembrance of his remarkable contributions to engineering and nation-building.


The Head of the Department of Civil Engineering introduced the Chief Guest, Er. Praveen Patil, by presenting his professional profile and highlighting his experience and contributions in the field of civil engineering.


Dr. V. M. Patil, Administrator, RTE Society, addressed the gathering as the Guest of Honour. He spoke extensively about the life, achievements and professional values of Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

He highlighted Visvesvaraya's exceptional work ethic, sincerity, discipline, dedication, knowledge, wisdom and commitment to public service. He explained how Sir M. Visvesvaraya held several important positions during his illustrious career and used every opportunity to contribute to the development of the nation.


Dr. B. N. Patil, Principal, Rural Engineering College, addressed the gathering and spoke about Sir M. Visvesvaraya's timely wisdom, technical vision and sincerity towards his work. He encouraged students and faculty members to cultivate these qualities and apply them in their own responsibilities.


Shri Krishna Odugoudar, Principal, Rural Polytechnic, Hulkoti, also shared his thoughts on the occasion. He recalled the significant contributions of Sir M. Visvesvaraya to engineering, infrastructure development and the progress of the nation. He urged students to draw inspiration from his life and strive towards becoming responsible engineers.


The programme proceeded with the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Er. Praveen Patil, as a mark of respect and appreciation for his presence and participation in the Engineers’ Day celebration.


The entire programme was coordinated by the faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering. Mr. Jagadeesh M. served as the anchor and conducted the programme smoothly. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Manohar Sankadal, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, management, principal, faculty members and students for their valuable presence and support.


The celebration concluded with a renewed appreciation of the life and legacy of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, inspiring the students to pursue engineering with knowledge, sincerity, discipline, innovation and a strong sense of responsibility towards society and the nation.
