REC Hulkoti Hosts Vibrant Annual Sports Meet 2026

The Annual Sports Meet of R.T.E Society’s Rural Engineering College (REC), Hulkoti, commenced on a grand note with a flag hoisting ceremony led by Dr. L. R. Somangoudar, Incharge Principal ,REC Hulkoti.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Somangoudar congratulated Mr. Chandrashekarappa Vaddatti for his remarkable achievement of securing bronze medals in the 800m and 1500m events at the 27th State-Level Intercollegiate Meet held at Tipatur. He highlighted the significance of sports in shaping students’ physical fitness, discipline, and team spirit.

The ceremony continued with the customary oath-taking, where participants pledged to uphold the values of fair play and sportsmanship throughout the event.

Prof. Chandrakant Watawati, Coordinator of the event, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, staff, and student athletes. Mr. Arun Rathod, Physical Director, provided a detailed briefing on the various track and field events along with the rules and regulations to be followed. The program was effectively anchored by Mr. Puneetgouda Patil.

The sports meet featured a variety of athletic events including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m races, relay races, javelin throw, and throwball for both men and women. Students from all branches participated enthusiastically, showcasing their talent and sportsmanship.

The event witnessed active participation from students and wholehearted support from staff members. All coordinators worked diligently to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the sports meet
