Kanakadas Jayanti was commemorated at the Rural Engineering College , Hulkoti, with participation from both teaching and non-teaching staff. Dr. L.R. Somanagoudar, the Dean Academics, along with Dr. S.T. Vasan, addressed the audience, highlighting the life and contributions of Kanakadas.
Dr. S.T. Vasan elaborated on Kanakadas's origins in Baad village, located in the Shiggavi Taluka of Haveri district, and his role as a warrior at the Bankapura fort. He noted that Kanakadasa became a devoted figure and composed numerous Keertanas.
Dr. L.R. Somanagoudar emphasized that Kanakadas was both a poet and a philosopher who transcended caste and religious boundaries. He encouraged everyone to incorporate Kanakadas's values into their lives.
