Industrial Visit to Water Treatment Plant – Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering organized an industrial visit for 3rd and 5th-semester students to provide an in-depth understanding of modern water treatment processes. A total of 35 students (22 from 3rd semester and 13 from 5th semester) participated in the visit.
The students explored key units of the treatment facility, including the Cascade Aerator, Flash Mixer, Flocculator, Tube Settlers, Rapid Sand Filter, and the Disinfection Unit. The plant operates with a high degree of automation, ensuring efficient treatment with minimal manual intervention.
Strategically located at a higher elevation and well-ventilated, the facility effectively supplies treated water to the city through a gravity-fed distribution system.
The visit was coordinated and accompanied by Mr. Chandrakant Watawati, Head of the Department, Civil Engineering. Technical insights and on-site explanations were provided by Mr. Babu (Plant Manager) and Mr. Chandrakant Watawati.,Head of the Department, Civil Engineering
