Industrial Visit to RTPS, Shakti Nagar, Raichur
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti, organized an Industrial Visit to Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS), Shakti Nagar, Raichur on 7th August 2026 for 64 seventh-semester students, accompanied by four faculty members.
RTPS, one of Karnataka's largest coal-based thermal power plants operated by Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL), provided students with valuable exposure to real-world power generation and industrial operations.
During the visit, students gained practical insights into:

🏭 Boiler, turbine, and generator operations
🎛️ Centralized control room and plant automation
🚚 Coal handling and ash management systems
💧 Water treatment and cooling processes
🦺 Industrial safety practices and environmental protection measures
The visit successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and industrial applications, enhancing students' technical knowledge and understanding of large-scale power generation systems.
