Five-Day FDP on MongoDB Associate Developer Inaugurated at REC Hulkoti

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering and the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning of R.T.E. Society's Rural Engineering College (REC), Hulkoti, in association with ICT Academy, inaugurated a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "MongoDB Associate Developer Certification" on 6th July 2026. The programme aims to equip faculty members, researchers, and academicians with industry-relevant knowledge and hands-on expertise in MongoDB, one of the world's leading NoSQL database technologies.


The inaugural session commenced with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, participants, and resource persons. Dr. Sharanabasavaraj H. Angadi, Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the growing importance of MongoDB in today's technology landscape. He explained how MongoDB has become a preferred NoSQL database for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), e-commerce, fintech, and enterprise-scale applications due to its flexibility, scalability, and high performance.


Speaking on career opportunities, Dr. Angadi emphasized that leading organizations such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCLTech, Accenture, Cognizant, Flipkart, Swiggy, Zomato, PhonePe, and Paytm extensively use MongoDB in their software ecosystems. He encouraged participants to continuously upgrade their technical skills, noting that expertise in MongoDB opens doors to careers as MongoDB Associate Developers, Backend Developers, Full Stack Developers, Database Developers, Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Software Engineers.


Dr. V. M. Patil, Administrator, R.T.E. Society, stressed the importance of lifelong learning and urged faculty members to remain updated with emerging technologies so they can effectively prepare students for the ever-evolving IT industry.


Representing ICT Academy, Mr. Praveen Gastii and Mr. Mohammed Tousif Mujawar encouraged the participants to actively engage in every technical session, complete the hands-on exercises, and make the best use of the certification-oriented training programme.


Dr. B. N. Patil, Principal, REC Hulkoti, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of faculty members from various colleges across Karnataka. He expressed confidence that the FDP would strengthen participants' technical capabilities and inspire them to integrate modern database technologies into teaching, research, and student mentoring.


Adding a cultural touch to the inaugural ceremony, Ms. Tanvi, Mr. Pradeep, Mr. Chetan Suresh Bellary, and team presented a melodious musical performance that was highly appreciated by the audience and created an enthusiastic atmosphere.


The inaugural function was attended by the Heads of various Departments, faculty members, research scholars, and participants from different institutions. The programme was efficiently anchored by Ms. Pooja N. M., while the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Raghavendra F. Sheddi, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, who expressed gratitude to the management of R.T.E. Society, ICT Academy, the resource persons, dignitaries, organizing committee, and all participants for contributing to the grand success of the inaugural programme.


The five-day FDP will continue until 10th July 2026, covering MongoDB fundamentals, CRUD operations, aggregation framework, indexing, replication, sharding, security, performance optimization, real-world applications, and MongoDB Associate Developer Certification preparation through expert-led lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions.
